Article 219

Taking an example, suppose benefic debilitated Sun is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Libra with benefic exalted Saturn. Mercury is placed in the eleventh house in Scorpio, benefic Rahu is placed in the eighth house in Leo, Ketu is placed in the second house in Aquarius, benefic Moon is placed in the first house in Capricorn, and exalted Jupiter is placed in the seventh house in Cancer. In this case, the native may become a politician. He may actively engage in politics after the age of 30 and he may come across good amount of success, fame, recognition and authority as a politician. The native may win public elections more than once in his life, and he may become a member of the legislative assembly or parliament, depending on his overall horoscope and running times. He may also become a minister in a state government, if the finer factors and running times are favourable.

If benefic Venus is placed in the tenth house in Libra with Saturn and Sun, and benefic Mars is placed in the eighth house in Leo with Rahu, the equation may become better. Benefic exalted Saturn as well as benefic Venus may cancel the debilitation status of Sun and double Neechbhang Rajyoga may be formed in the horoscope. Saturn may form Shasha Yoga and Venus may form Malavya Yoga in the tenth house of this horoscope. The influence of these two strong benefic planets may turn Sun into a significantly/highly benefic planet, depending on the nakshatra and navamsha placements of these three planets.

As a result, the native may achieve top class results through politics and he may come across very good amount of success, fame, recognition and authority as a politician. The native may win public elections, several times in his life and he may become the chief minister of a state or a minister in the national government, more than once in his life. If the native becomes a minister in the national government, he may hold the ministry of defence, home, health or foreign affairs. If the finer factors and running times are very good, the native may even become the prime minister or president of his country.

Taking an example, suppose benefic debilitated Sun is placed in the eleventh house of a horoscope in Libra with benefic Mercury. Benefic Saturn is placed in the second house in Capricorn, benefic exalted Rahu is placed in the sixth house in Taurus, exalted Ketu is placed in the twelfth house in Scorpio and benefic Jupiter is placed in the ninth house in Leo. In this case, the native may engage in the field of law. He may become an officer in the law/justice department of his country and he may come across good amount of success, recognition and authority.

If Venus is placed in the twelfth house in Scorpio with Ketu, debilitated Mars is placed in the eighth house in Cancer and Moon is placed in the fifth house in Aries, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may engage in the study of law, he may get a professional degree in law, but he may not practice as a lawyer. He may get selected as a high rank officer in the law/justice department and he may enjoy very good amount of success, recognition and authority through his profession. After retirement, the native may start practicing as a criminal lawyer and he may come across very good amount of money, success and recognition.

The placement of debilitated Sun in the twelfth house is a difficult placement. Though Sun is generally benefic in horoscopes with Scorpio ascendant, debilitated Sun in the twelfth house may work as an exception in many cases. Sun is weak due to debilitation and the twelfth house is a difficult to handle house. Hence Sun may easily go malefic here, even due to the influence of a partly malefic planet or due to significantly, if not highly malefic overall horoscope.

The area which may suffer the most is that related to native’s father. This is one sphere which may see problems even in cases when such Sun is benefic. Hence the native may witness various types of problems related to his father. The exceptions to this general trait may be seen in cases where Moon being the lord of the ninth house is strong, ninth house is empowered by benefic planets, and/or Sun is empowered by benefic planets, especially Jupiter.

Moon can’t rescue Sun in this case by being placed in the twelfth house, Venus is generally malefic for horoscopes with Scorpio ascendant and Saturn may be partly benefic and partly malefic when exalted and placed in the twelfth house. Hence such debilitated Sun can’t be rescued through Neechbhang Rajyoga since the placement of exalted Saturn or Venus with Sun may further complicate the matters. The concept of various planets exhibiting tendencies to be benefic or malefic on the basis of the houses they rule in a horoscope has been explained in the chapter ‘Gemstones for House Lords’ of the book ‘Gemstones: Magic or Science? (Revised Edition)’.

Taking an example, suppose benefic debilitated Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio with benefic Jupiter. Benefic Sun is placed in the fifth house in Pisces, Venus is placed in the fourth house in Aquarius, Mercury is placed in the sixth house in Aries and benefic Saturn is placed in the eighth house in Gemini. In this case, the native may become a spiritual guru. He may spend several years in pursuit of spiritual growth and he may possess good amount of it. He may start practicing as a spiritual teacher/guru after the age of 35, and he may come across good amount of success, fame and recognition. The native may start his own spiritual mission after the age of 40 and he may guide many people on the path to spiritualism.
