Debilitated Mercury in Second House
When debilitated Mercury is placed in the second house in a horoscope, Aquarius rises in the ascendant. Debilitated Mercury is benefic in the second house in many cases though it may turn malefic in some cases. This may happen when Mercury is afflicted by malefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of malefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Mercury may become more malefic.
Since Mercury is weak due to debilitation, it may become easy for malefic planets to add negativity to Mercury. If debilitated Mercury is afflicted by one or more than one malefic planet in the second house, it may turn significantly or highly malefic. Apart from that, the overall theme of horoscope having such debilitated Mercury can also turn it malefic in some cases, when such theme is malefic. If benefic Mars is placed in the fourth house in Taurus with Venus and Saturn, and Moon is placed in the twelfth house in Capricorn with Ketu, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may witness medical complications and she may not be able to deliver her first child till the age of 35 or 40. If Sun is placed in the first house in Aquarius and debilitated Mars is placed in the sixth house in Cancer with Rahu, the equation may become worse. In this case, the native may suffer from more than one miscarriage but she may not give birth to an alive child, unless there is a grace saving factor in her horoscope. For instance, if benefic Jupiter is placed in the second house in Pisces with Mercury and Saturn, the native may give birth to an alive child, after the age of 40 and after facing a couple of miscarriages. The native may also adopt a child, if the finer factors and running times are supportive for this result.
