The seventh house of horoscope represents the event of marriage, happiness in marriage, longevity of marriage, husband, wife, partnerships, alliances, genitals, sexual acts and many other things. Venus is the general signifier of wife in case of male natives and Jupiter is the general signifier of husband in case of female natives. However, both husband and wife are specifically represented by the seventh house. Hence the lord of the seventh house represents both husband as well as wife.
The seventh house deals with the event of marriage or timing of marriage, which means it indicates during what age the native may get marriage. This house also represents happiness in marriage as well as longevity of marriage. These are three different aspects of marriage and a horoscope may be blessed with one, two or three of them. For example, a native may get married at proper age if the first aspect is fine. However, he may suffer from bad marriage and such marriage may break; when the other two aspects are not good in his horoscope.
Taking another case, a native may get marriage at proper age and he may even enjoy good marriage. However, his husband or wife may be lost through an unfortunate event like death; if the third aspect is not good in his marriage. Hence the sphere of marriage may be called blessed when all three factors are good in a horoscope.
The seventh house also deals with partnerships as well as with partners. Marriage is also a kind of partnership and husband or wife is also a partner. The partnership represented by the seventh house is based on mutual gains and trust; and it doesn’t represent selfless partnership or love on its own. Hence the seventh house represents business partners, project partners, room partners, dance partners, professional partners and various other types of partners with shared or common interests. However, it doesn’t represent true lovers or friends. This is because friendship in its truest sense means a bond without the thought of profit and loss; and a bond which doesn’t include mutual interests.
The seventh house deals with relationships based on mutual interests where both parties are supposed to benefit as well as share responsibilities. Hence the partnerships, pairs or alliances represented by the seventh house may deal in mutual profitability, loyalty and fairness; but they may not deal in selfless acts of love. It may be easy to understand that all types of partnerships and alliances but marriage are based on mutual gains. When it comes to marriage; it may look like a bond formed out of love in case of love marriages.
However in reality, it is a contract or an agreement between two parties. Love is selfless and it never focuses on profits, losses, terms, conditions, promises and vows. A mother may love her children selflessly and she may ask or expect nothing in return. This is an example of love. Since the event of marriage itself includes a number of promises, conditions or vows to be fulfilled by both parties; it is not an act of love. It is a partnership based on mutual gains as well as on mutual responsibilities. Hence no marriage in the deepest sense is conducted out of pure love though marriage may lead to pure love in some cases.
This means that though you form a partnership focused on mutual interests when you get married; you may actually fall in love with your partner over a period of years. If that happens; the relationship starts as a contract or partnership and it turns into love. If that happens to a native; the seventh house, the lord of the seventh house or the general signifier for marriage in his or her horoscope may be under strong influence of astrological energies which promote pure love. Therefore, the seventh house on its own can’t bring love to a marriage and such love has to come from somewhere else in a horoscope.
Pitra Dosh formed in the seventh house may cause damage to the significances of this house as well as to the planets involved in the formation of this defect. Let’s consider various formations of Pitra Dosh in the seventh house and see what may happen.
Suppose benefic Sun and malefic Mars form Pitra Dosh in the seventh house of a horoscope in Scorpio. Taurus rises as the ascendant in this case. Mars is stronger than Sun in Scorpio. Sun rules the fourth house and Mars rules the seventh as well as the twelfth house in this horoscope.
Through its general as well as specific significances; Sun represents mother, home, family, community, nation, traditions, beliefs, security, education, properties, vehicles, mental health, immunity, confidence, intelligence, creativity, father and the ability to produce children in case of male natives; among many other things.
Through its general as well as specific significances; Mars represents courage, aggression, initiative, stubbornness, impulsiveness, anger, destructive tendencies, marriage, husband, wife, partnerships, genitals, losses, delays, confusions, addictions, vices and many other things.
Therefore, such Pitra Dosh may create problems related to the general significances of Sun as well as those of the fourth and seventh house; through the general significances of Mars as well as through those of the twelfth house. Hence such Pitra Dosh may create problems related to marriage, husband, wife, partnerships, health, overall wellbeing, mother, father, family, mental health and education among other problems.
The type and quantum of these problems depend on the strength of such Pitra Dosh as well as on the overall horoscope of the native. The strength of such Pitra Dosh depends on the placements of Sun and Mars in various nakshatras as well as navamshas within the sign of Scorpio. Apart from this, the influences of benefic and malefic planets on Sun and Mars; as well as the running times may also affect the strength of such Pitra Dosh. Let’s look into these factors.
Let’s start with nakshatras. The sign of Scorpio features three nakshatras; Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha. If Sun and Mars are placed in Vishakha nakshatra, the problems may be serious; for all spheres affected by such Pitra Dosh. If Sun is in Vishakha and Mars is in Anuradha, the problems may be serious or very serious; especially those related to marriage, mother, father and health. If Sun is placed in Vishakha and Mars is in Jyeshtha, the problems may be serious or very serious; especially those related to marriage, husband, wife, mother and father.
When Sun is placed in Anuradha and Mars is in Vishakha, the problems may be significant or serious; especially those related to marriage, mother and health. If Sun and Mars are placed in Anuradha, the problems may be significant or serious; especially those related to marriage, partnerships, mother and father. If Sun is placed in Anuradha and Mars is in Jyeshtha, the problems may be serious or very serious; especially those related to marriage, mother, father, mental health and partnerships.
When Sun is placed in Jyeshtha and Mars is in Vishakha, the problems may be significant; especially those related to marriage and mother. If Sun is placed in Jyeshtha and Mars is in Anuradha; the problems may be significant or serious; and these problems may cover all spheres affected by such Pitra Dosh. When both Sun and Mars are placed in Jyeshtha, the problems may be serious or very serious; and all spheres affected by such Pitra Dosh may be hit.
Looking at navamshas, the sign of Scorpio features 9 navamshas. Within Scorpio; Sun and Mars may form 81 types of Pitra Dosh by virtue of their placements in various navamshas. Let’s discuss some of these combinations.
When Sun is placed in Leo, Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha and Mars is placed in Cancer, Libra, Aquarius or Pisces navamsha; the problems may be significant. If Sun is placed in Leo, Sagittarius or Capricorn and Mars is placed in Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; the problems may be serious. Within these combinations; when both Sun and Mars are placed in Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; the problems may become very serious.
When Sun is placed in Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio or Pisces navamsha and Mars is placed in Cancer, Libra, Aquarius or Pisces navamsha; the problems may be significant or serious. If Sun is placed in Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio or Pisces navamsha and Mars is placed in Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; the problems may be serious or very serious. Within these combinations; when Sun is placed in Virgo or Pisces navamsha and Mars is placed in Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; the problems may become very serious.
When Sun is placed in Libra or Aquarius navamsha and Mars is placed in Cancer, Libra, Aquarius or Pisces navamsha; the problems may be serious or very serious. If Sun is placed in Libra or Aquarius navamsha and Mars is placed in Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; the problems may be very serious or destructive. Looking at the worst possible combinations, when Sun is placed in Libra navamsha and Mars is placed in Sagittarius or Capricorn navamsha; such Pitra Dosh may prove destructive.
Sun is debilitated in Libra and hence it is the weakest in this navamsha; within the sign of Scorpio. Mars is strong or very strong in Sagittarius and Capricorn navamshas. Sagittarius and Capricorn navamshas are ruled by Jyeshtha which is a harsh nakshatra. Hence such Pitra Dosh may prove destructive in these cases. Though Mars is strong in Leo and Scorpio navamsha also; they are ruled by Anuradha nakshatra which is a tender nakshatra and it generally doesn’t promote destructive actions for selfish motives. Hence the problems may be very serious but not destructive; when Sun is placed in Libra navamsha and Mars is placed in Leo or Scorpio navamsha.
Though such Pitra Dosh may create serious or very serious problems related to various spheres; much depends on the overall horoscope. Whichever of these spheres are protected by benefic planets; they may suffer less. Whichever spheres are neither protected nor troubled; they may suffer significantly. The spheres which are troubled by other malefic planets also, may suffer the most.
When it comes to profession, such Pitra Dosh may create a number of serious problems related to this field also. Sun and Mars are generally important for profession and both of them are in serious trouble; especially Sun. Venus rules the first house which is important for profession; and Venus is also troubled. The key to profession is held by Saturn and Moon in this case, since they represent the tenth and third house respectively. Therefore, if Saturn and Moon are strong and clean in this horoscope; the native may do well in profession, despite all the problems created by the malefic combination in the seventh house.
Looking at one of the best options; if a benefic combination of exalted Moon and Saturn is placed in the first house of this horoscope in Taurus along with debilitated Ketu; the sphere of profession may be saved. In this case, the native may do well in profession. Apart from this; such benefic combination may significantly reduce problems related to the lifespan and wellbeing of the native, his mother and his father. The placement of this benefic combination in the first house provides strength to native’s health and lifespan, since the first house has been strongly empowered.
Moon represents mother in general and Saturn represents father in this case; since it rules the ninth house. Both these planets are benefic; Moon is exalted in Taurus and Saturn is strong in this sign. Combining all these facts; this benefic combination may significantly reduce the problems related to profession, health, lifespan, mother and father among other problems. However, even this benefic combination may not save the sphere of marriage in case of a male native; though it may result in significant improvements in case of a female native; provided Jupiter is strong and clean.
Let’s change the equation and see what may happen to the profession, health, lifespan, mother and father of the native if there are no grace saving planets. Suppose a malefic combination of Sun, Venus, Mars and Rahu forms Pitra Dosh in the seventh house of a horoscope in Scorpio and malefic Ketu is placed in the first house in Taurus.
Looking at the sphere of profession, the native suffering from such Pitra Dosh may become a criminal and he may engage in crimes involving violence, drugs and women. Hence such native may become a woman trafficker, a killer, land mafia, terrorist, drug trafficker or some other likewise professional. Since the lifespan of this native is also troubled; he may die before his age of 35 years; unless the overall horoscope opposes this event. Such native may get killed through an encounter, bomb blast, accident, murder or due to drug overdose. Taking an example, if a malefic combination of Jupiter and Moon is placed in the fifth house in Virgo and debilitated Saturn is placed in twelfth house in Aries; the native may get killed by a rival gang or he may die due to drug overdose, before his age of 35 years.
The malefic impact of such Pitra Dosh may also get the native infected with a sexually transmitted disease like HIV AIDS and he may die because of it. The seventh house deals with sexual acts and it rules the genitals. Hence specific malefic influences in this house like the ones mentioned in this example may trouble the native through sexually transmitted diseases. HIV can be transmitted through blood, sperms or from a mother to her child.
Since the seventh house is afflicted and planets like Venus and Rahu are involved; the native is very likely to contract HIV through sexual intercourse and not through other ways. Drawing a comparison; if a malefic combination of debilitated Moon, Venus, Mercury, retrograde Saturn and Ketu is placed in the horoscope of a female native in the fifth house in Scorpio and Mars is placed in the eighth house in Aquarius; the equation may change. Such female native may contract HIV while she may be pregnant and she may pass it on to her child also.
Looking at another probability, if a malefic combination of Jupiter, Mars, debilitated Saturn and Rahu is placed in the eighth house of a horoscope in Aries and Moon is placed in the sixth house in Aquarius; the equation may change. Such female native may contract HIV and she may transfer it to her child through breastfeeding. Considering yet another probability; if a malefic combination of Mars, retrograde Mercury and Rahu is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Aries, and a malefic combination of Sun and Jupiter is placed in the twelfth house in Pisces; the native may contract HIV through blood.
Coming back to the main topic; the native suffering from such Pitra Dosh may have unprotected sex with a woman and he may contract HIV. The native is likely to be under the influence of a drug when he engages in sex. Depending on the overall horoscope of the native; he may die anywhere before his age of 45 years, due to AIDS. Likewise, the problems posed by such Pitra Dosh related to the father, mother and other spheres of this native’s life may be assessed by looking into the relevant details.
Let’s discuss Pitra Dosh formed in the seventh house due to affliction to the lord of the ninth house by one or more than one malefic planet. Suppose a combination of benefic Mars and malefic Sun forms Pitra Dosh in the seventh house of a horoscope in Virgo. The equation has reversed in this case compared to the first case. Sun is malefic and Mars is benefic in this case. Sun represents the sixth house whereas Mars represents the second as well as the ninth house. Both Mars and Sun are not strong in Virgo and they have comparable strengths, though Sun is somewhat stronger.
Through such Pitra Dosh, the general and specific significances of Mars may be troubled by the significances of Sun. Hence such Pitra Dosh may create problems related to family, wealth, money, speech, memory, family traditions, father, luck factor, spiritual growth, religion, immunity, courage, bravery, initiative and many other things.
Such Pitra Dosh is special in more than one sense. When Pitra Dosh is formed in a horoscope, the first threat is posed to the father of the native; as either the general or the specific signifier of the father is afflicted by a malefic planet. However in this case, Sun being the general signifier of father is afflicting Mars which is the specific signifier of father in this horoscope. At the same time, benefic Mars being the specific signifier of father is adding benefic influence to Sun which is the general signifier of father.
Just as malefic planets try to send negativity to benefic planets when they form conjunctions; benefic planets try to send positivity to malefic planets through same conjunctions. Apart from this, even malefic planets tend to protect their general as well as specific significances. Hence in this combination; Sun is trying to protect father as its general significance and it is trying to cause damage to father which is the specific significance of Mars in this horoscope. When it comes to Mars; it is trying to protect father as its specific significance and at the same time; it is helping Sun to protect father as its general significance.
When a benefic and a malefic planet form a conjunction; the benefic planet may help the malefic planet with those significances only; which are not malefic and which are not contrary to the significances of such benefic planet. For example, Sun represents diseases, disputes and a number of other malefic things in this horoscope. Benefic energy of Mars may try to counteract these significances and it may not support these significances. However, Sun also represents father, intelligence, immunity and a number of other significances which are benefic and they resemble with significances of Mars. Benefic Mars may not cause damage to these significances and it may try to strengthen them.
Combining all these facts; such Pitra Dosh may create significant, serious or very serious problems related to all the spheres affected by it; except father. Since father is a common significance of Mars and Sun in this horoscope; and both these planets have comparable strengths in Virgo; the sphere of father may be spared. Hence such Pitra Dosh on its own may only create mild problems related to the father of the native or no problems may be created.
Let’s look at the second special attribute of such Pitra Dosh. Sun is the general signifier of ancestors. Mars represents family through the second house and father as well as ancestors through the ninth house. It means both the planets and two houses involved in the formation of such Pitra Dosh deal with family and ancestors. Hence such Pitra Dosh goes much deeper in the ancestral portal than most other types of Pitra Dosh.
This means that the influence of karmic debts of the ancestors on the native may be much stronger in this case; compared to a number of other types of Pitra Dosh. At the same time, the native may be more capable of sending positive energy to his ancestors through good karmas or through guided karmas; compared to the natives with a number of other types of Pitra Dosh. The portal that connects the native and his ancestors may be activated much more than usual in this case. Hence the native may suffer more due to the karmas of his ancestors. At the same time; he may be able to relieve his ancestors from their negative karmas; in a better and stronger manner; through his karmas.
This type of Pita Dosh may form only in case of horoscopes with two ascendants and that too when Sun is the afflicting planet. One of them is horoscope with Pisces ascendant where Mars represents the second as well as ninth house and Sun is malefic. The other one is horoscope with Virgo ascendant where Venus represents the second as well as ninth house and Sun is malefic since it rules the twelfth house.
For each ascendant type horoscope; there are about 10 to 12 combinations of two planets which may result in Pitra Dosh. At the same time, there are about 5 to 6 occurrences of Pitra Dosh formed due to affliction to the ninth house; for each ascendant type horoscope. It means each ascendant type horoscope can feature about 15 to 18 formations of Pitra Dosh either by virtue of conjunction of two planets or due to affliction to the ninth house.
It should be noted that Pitra Dosh formed by two specific planets in various houses of the same horoscope has been considered as one occurrence for the sake of this calculation. It means that the formation of Pitra Dosh due to a conjunction of malefic Sun and benefic Mars in 12 different houses of a horoscope with Pisces ascendant has been considered as one occurrence. On average, about 4 to 5 other planets may afflict Mars in this horoscope and form Pitra Dosh. Likewise; about 4 to 5 planets may afflict Sun in this horoscope and form Pitra Dosh. Similarly, about 5 to 6 planets may afflict the ninth house in this horoscope and form Pitra Dosh. Hence the total number of occurrences is about 15 to 17 in this case. The same calculations apply in case of 11 other types of horoscopes with different ascendants.
Combining these results; we get about 200 occurrences of Pitra Dosh in all 12 ascendant type horoscopes. These occurrences do not include Pitra Dosh formed by the combination of same planets in different houses and Pitra Dosh formed by more than two planets in various houses of different horoscopes. Among these 200 occurrences; only two occurrences form this special type of Pitra Dosh. One of them is formed by Sun and Mars in Pisces ascendant type horoscope and the other one is formed by Sun and Venus in Virgo ascendant type horoscope.
In both these cases; the Sun, the second and the ninth house are involved in the formation of Pitra Dosh. Hence these cases are rare but very special. The natives suffering from these types of Pitra Dosh may have to suffer a lot more than natives suffering from 198 other types of Pitra Dosh. The ancestral portal is highly active and two way energy transfer is strongly supported in these cases. As a result; a large part of negative energy gathered by the ancestors may flow to one such native; though there may be a number of other family members having other types of Pitra Dosh. At the same time; good or specifically guided karmas done by this native may provide much more relief to the ancestors; than those done by other family members who don’t have this type of Pitra Dosh in their horoscope.
Therefore, these two cases of Pitra Dosh need special attention. Hence the native should be guided to engage in more and more positive karmas as well as specifically guided karmas; in order to transfer more and more positive energy to his ancestors through the ancestral portal. The term ‘specifically guided karmas’ in this context means specific astrological remedies based on the overall horoscope of such native.
Coming back to the main topic, Pitra Dosh formed by Mars and Sun in the seventh house in Virgo may trouble the native with problems related to the spheres covered by it. The type and quantum of such problems depend on the strength of such Pitra Dosh as well as on the overall horoscope. The strength of such Pitra Dosh is checked through the placement of Mars and Sun in various nakshatras and navamshas; within the sign of Virgo. Apart from this; influences of other benefic and malefic planets and that of the running times may also affect the strength of such Pitra Dosh.
Let’s look into these factors and let’s start with nakshatras. The sign of Virgo features three nakshatras; Uttaraphalguni, Hasta and Chitra. If both Mars and Sun are placed in Uttaraphalguni, the problems may be significant or serious. Sun rules Uttaraphalguni and it is strong in this nakshatra. If Mars is placed in Uttaraphalguni and Sun is placed in Hasta or Chitra, the problems may be significant or serious. When Mars is placed in Hasta and Sun is placed in Uttaraphalguni, the problems may be serious or very serious. If both Mars and Sun are placed in Hasta, the problems may be serious or very serious.
When Mars is placed in Hasta and Sun is in Chitra; the problems may be significant or serious. If Mars is placed in Chitra and Sun is in Uttraphalguni or Hasta; the problems may be significant or serious. When both Mars and Sun are placed in Chitra; the problems may be mild, significant or serious. Mars rules Chitra nakshatra and it is relatively strong in this nakshatra.
Looking at navamshas, the sign of Virgo features 9 navamshas, ranging from Capricorn to Virgo. Mars and Sun can form 81 combination of Pitra Dosh in various navamshas within the sign of Virgo. Let’s discuss some of these combinations.
When Mars is placed in Capricorn, Aries or Leo navamsha and Sun is placed in Aquarius, Pisces, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, or Virgo navamsha; the problems may be mild or significant. Among these combinations also; the one with Mars in Capricorn navamsha and Sun in Cancer navamsha may prove the least troublesome. When Mars is placed in Capricorn, Aries or Leo navamsha and Sun is placed in Aries or Leo navamsha; the problems may be significant or serious.
If Mars is placed in Aquarius, Pisces, Taurus, Gemini or Virgo navamsha and Sun is placed in Aquarius, Pisces, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, or Virgo navamsha; the problems may be significant or serious. If Mars is placed in Aquarius, Pisces, Taurus, Gemini or Virgo navamsha and Sun is placed in Capricorn, Aries or Leo navamsha; the problems may be serious or very serious. Looking at the worst possible combinations; when Mars is placed in Cancer navamsha and Sun is placed in Aries or Leo navamsha; the problems may become very serious or destructive.
